50% Sangiovese, 30% Montepulciano, 20% Primitivo
Over the years, true Unti fans know and love Rosso del Campo as the everyday "pizza wine" from Unti. The 2022 RDC is a bit more robust than some years due to the vintage and the fact that we did not include Barbera.
The Sangiovese includes fruit from our Sangiovese grosso (Brunello clone) vines planted in 2007 and our winery block Sangiovese. Both Montepulciano and Primitivo are from the winery property.
This '22 Rosso really shows the cherry character of Sangiovese, along with the darker fruits of Montepulciano and Primitivo. Similar to our very popular 2020 RDC, this is more structured and complex than the average pizza wine. it even has some aging potential, but I'm guessing you'll want to drink it right away, and I don't blame you.
