With a warm, dry spring hastening the onset of budbreak, the 2013 growing season began full of promise. The perfect weather persisted for flowering and fruit set, producing smaller canopies and small berries with intense concentration and firm tannins. With the exception of one heat spike in late June, the consistent, moderate temperatures, lack of major heat spikes, beautifully long season, and a very early harvest made for one of the most superb vintages in Napa Valley’s history. Our grapes were hand-picked between September 16th and 27th, fermented individually in small tanks, aged in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled after 23 months in barrel on August 28th, 2015.
On the nose, this wine is full of black fruit aromas enlivened by notes of black tea, savory spices, chaparral and tobacco leaf. In the mouth, the wine envelops the palate with super plush, fine-grained tannins and intense flavors of brambly fruit, coffee, and dark chocolate, overlying a core of superb minerality that continues into a lingering and deliciously satisfying finish. Notes winemaker Francoise Peschon, This wine, with its generous aromas, flavors and supple tannins, reflects the fine terroir of the vineyards and the extraordinary vintage.
"Debut vintage of the Araujos' new venture. Mid (not deep) crimson. Light and lifted on the nose. Very distinctive. Very racy and new wave. Françoise Peschon is the winemaker, Michel Rolland the oenologist. Polished. The winery that bought the rest of the grapes kept them on the vine for another three weeks! Very long. Drink 2018-2030."- Jancis Robinson
"Accendo's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a surprisingly open-knit, succulent wine for the year. There is good lift and creaminess throughout, but less of the energy, depth and structural intensity that is such a signature of this vintage. Mocha, black cherry, spice, and tobacco are some of the notes that open up in the glass. This is one of the more supple, accessible 2013 Cabernets readers will come across."- Vinous
Deep ruby red color with pomegranate reflections. Aromas of peach blossoms, violet, raspberry and mint. On the palate it is intense yet refined; it displays full body and smoothness, with clear notes of dried grapes.
Ideal with spicy dishes, game and seasoned cheeses. Excellent with Parmigiano cheese.

"All of the 2011 Syrahs will be in bottle by the time you read this. The 2011 Syrah Reva Alban Estate Vineyard offers a cool-climate, pretty and perfumed style to go with lots of pepper, violets, iodine and dark fruits, with just a hint of vanilla and oak. Full-bodied, fresh and lively, with bright acidity and fine tannin, it's a Northern Rhone look-alike that will have 15-20 years of longevity. I had a great visit with John Alban, whose estate is located at the southern end of the Edna Valley and in one of the coolest AVAs in California. Despite this, he makes some of the most concentrated, rich and age-worthy reds and whites from the entire state... As for the 2011s, this was the coolest vintage on record in California and the smallest crop ever for Alban. The wines are distinctly different from past vintages, and dare I say, have plenty of northern Rhone-like character. Despite the freakishly cold weather, these are no lightweight wines and they have shocking concentration in the vintage. These will need short-term cellaring but I doubt they'll be as long-lived as the larger framed vintages. Nevertheless, they're beautiful, singular wines. As I said last year, it remains a mystery to me why no one else in the Edna Valley tries to make wines of the quality that is so often achieved here."- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Bright ruby red with garnet reflections. Fine, elegant, fruity, raspberry, strawberry and black cherries on the nose. Dry, warm, quite smooth, fresh, medium-bodied, rightly tannic, intense, quite persistent, fresh and fruity finish.
"Subtle scents suggesting black-skinned fruit, iris, cake spice and a whiff of toast come together on this. The juicy, accessible palate doles out layers of fleshy berry, black cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg alongside soft, supple tannins."- Wine Enthusiast
Purity of fruit accompanies concentrated texture and weight, with excellent balance and expression enhanced by two years in bottle prior to release.
"Deep ruby. A complex, perfumed bouquet evokes dark berries, cola, smoked meat and mint. Supple and expansive on the palate, offering gently sweet blackberry and cherry-cola flavors that are firmed and lifted by juicy acidity. The smoky note repeats on the finish, which hangs on with very good tenacity and a whisper of fine-grained tannins. A fine effort for the vintage and delicious right now."-Vinous Media
The Pesquera Tinto's cherry red color reveals its youth and fruitiness. Its aspect is clean and appears to be glyceric. On the nose, the wine's intense bouquet reveals the best dark fruit marked by impeccable wood aromas. Hints of fallen leaves and spices such as vanilla. On the palate, the smooth entry becomes lush with abundant ripe tannins and an excellent balance between its acidity and heat. The presence of the well-integrated oak complements the fruit and spice beautifully to display a wine of great balance. A refined, long-lasting and elegant finish.
Pairs perfectly with roasted meats, farm yard poultry, veal stews as well as semi-cured cow and/or goat cheese.
"Black cherry and red plum flavors are fresh and lively in this juicy red. Light, firm tannins and citrusy acidity keep this focused. Balanced and energetic. Drink now through 2023. Tasted twice, with consistent notes."- Wine Spectator
With a pale gold color, this Bourgogne Aligoté 2015 is extremely fresh with lemony notes, acacia and also light buttery notes. The mouth is quite full and the finish is fresh and vivid. In a clean, fresh and energetic style, this wine is will accompany your appetizers like your most elaborate dishes.
Pairs well with roast chicken, seafood with lemon/citrus sauces and creamy pastas.
"Based on Pinot Noir the NV Crémant d'Alsace Rosé Brut has a very pale color with just a hint of rosé. Very delicate fruit aroma with hints of red berries and flowers on the very subtle, fresh and elegant nose lead to a full-flavored and quite expressive palate. The wine is quite powerful and fruit intense but in a discreet and elegant way. Firmly structured but provided with fine bubbles and an aromatic aftertaste there is really finesse in this very well-made and distinctive sparkling wine." -Robert Parker
This wine is spectacular, and represents the perfect foil for grilled steak. Rich, full bodied and muscular, Alto Moncayo has riveting intensity and palate staining extract; this Spanish red is inky/purple, full-bodied, and rich. This pedal-to-the-metal offering should age handsomely for a decade.
"Dark violet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red and dark berries, incense, vanilla and candied flowers, along with a vibrant mineral overtone. Juicy, concentrated and focused on the palate, offering intense black raspberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors that deepen and spread out steadily on the back half. An impressively long, mineral-laced finish features silky, even tannins and an echo of lavender pastille."- Vinous / Antonio Galloni
