Pairs well with fish, white meats and red meats.
Blend: 54% Malbec, 28% Cabernet, 18% Bonarda
This Malbec would be absolutely wonderful with a variety of grilled meats but especially with more full-flavored dishes like barbecued leg of lamb or roasted baby goat.
The Catena Malbec Appellation La Consulta shows a dark violet color with deep purple tones. The nose offers aromas like red fruit and ripe, concentrated dark berries with fresh herbs and floral notes like lavender and violets, some traces of vanilla and tobacco. The mouthfeel is rich, with raspberries and blueberries, spices notes and a touch of mocha. The finish presents soft and well-structured tannins with bright, crisp acidity that gives the wine exceptional length.
100% Malbec (aka Auxerrois in local parlance). Combel's Château Cuvée comes from estate plots totalling 3 hectares around their home village of Cournou on the limestone plateau known as the Causse at about 320m altitude. The soils for this bottling are mainly red clay with some limestone rock. The organically farmed vines average 40 years old and are kept to a yield of 40 hl/ha. The hand-harvested fruit is destemmed and crushed, with the juice fermented with native yeasts and 20 days of maceration; the temperature is kept quite cool in the beginning but allowed to rise significantly toward the end, to promote greater extraction of tannins for this bottling. A mix of cement, fiberglass and steel is used for the vinification. The wine is then aged in 500-liter tonneaux for a year. Because of the clay-heavy terroir and winemaking and aging choices, the Château Cuvée marks a signficant step up in body, tannin and complexity compared to the lighter, softer Pur Fruit bottling

Appellation D'Origine Protegee
Malbec from Cahors,France where the grape originates. Differs from Argentinian Malbec, it has more earthy notes to it and less fruit forward than expected. Food friendly wine to enjoy.
Named after the 15th century owner of this estate, the wine comes from a selection of the best parcels. With impressive tannins, a dense structure and rich bold black fruits, this is a powerful wine. It is full of ripe fruit with a mineral texture and has a good future. Very dark color with carmine highlights and a wonderfully complex and powerful bouquet of morello cherry, black currant, and spices. The freshness and fruitiness on the nose carry over to the palate, which has a long, silky finish. Pair with a roasted meat, like a T-bone steak. It also goes well with strong French cheese and dark chocolate.
In 1972, when David Stare opened the doors to Dry Creek Vineyard, it was the first new winery to be built in the Valley since Prohibition. Dry Creek created the first Sonoma Fume Blanc, originated the Dry Creek Valley AVA, and was an early advocate for Bordeaux-style blending. Today, Dry Creek Vineyard is committed to vineyard diversity, vinifying individual lots of fruit separately, and then blending carefully for each final cuvee.
The grapes for this delicious Bordeaux-inspired blend come from several estate and hillside vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley. At first swirl, the wine displays aromas of blueberry, vanilla and cherries. Several more minutes reveal hints of clove, cinnamon, black licorice and mocha characters. The palate has dark berry flavors along with cedar sweetness and cassis. There's a good balance between juicy dark fruit and oak structure. The tannins are soft and supple with a very round and slightly oily texture. It finishes with black pepper, boysenberry and a hint of barrel spice. Good acidity will help this wine to age beautifully for years to come, plus makes it a great food wine.

The fruit for the 2014 Ghost Block Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the family-owned Rock Cairn vineyard. The 30-year-old vineyard in Oakville, Napa Valley is 100% Certified Organic. Intense aromas of cassis, black currants, blackberries and ripe cherries with a lovely floral note. The palate is rich and seductive, with concentrated flavors of blackberries and cassis interwoven seamlessly with fine tannins from new French oak barrels. Its masculine structure is harnessed by a beautiful balance of acidity and dark fruits with a long, cassis-laced finish. A highly collectible vintage to be enjoyed now or cellared through 2032.
The 2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon’s dark fruits, rich palate and fine tannin structure make it a versatile companion at the dinner table. Though a natural pairing for a flavorful steak, such as ribeye or filet mignon, this wine’s balance of fruit, tannin and acidity beautifully complement grilled or roasted dishes, such as herb-crusted lamb, pork belly or rosemary chicken. Its dark fruit flavors will also stand up to aged cheddar cheese and richer meals, such as veal tenderloin with a wine sauce, mushroom risotto or duck confit. Recommended to decant for 45 to 60 minutes to elevate aromas and flavors.
Blend: 75.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15.5% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot; 1.5% Malbec; 0.5% Cabernet Franc
This is a great example of Mendoza Malbec. Incredible color—could use it in an inkwell! Loads of spice and black cherry cola aromas with notes of cocoa. The berry flavors really pop on the palate as the wine has both good depth and very lively acidity that leads to an incredibly long finish. A bottom note of freshly brewed espresso keeps the mouth watering too. Pairs well with foods such as venison or wild game, steak, pork, quail, all types of lamb, and medium-strong cheeses. A very flexible wine due to its concentration and balance.
Marietta's husband, Arme, lived, worked and fished throughout Alexander Valley, the Yorkville Highlands and the McDowell Valley. From Marietta's vineyards in those same valleys, the winemakers combine the best of what these sites offer to create a unique Cabernet Sauvignon. This approachable but incredibly serious wine is representative of excellent site selection and innovative winemaking.
