A blend of rums from the artisanal pot distillation and traditional twin column continuous distillation of Foursquare, distilled in 2005 and aged for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks. Authentic rum, no sugar or other flavour has been added.
Bapt & Clem's Rum
This assemblage was made by Marc Darroze . It is the result of 3 different aging techniques that will bring complexity and richness.
Aging rums were conducted in barrels from the USA , having already contained American bourbon for at least two years .
No added sugar in this rum drier and aromatic than most rums produced in the Caribbean
New great release from Blackadder Raw Cask and this time filled with a awesome 20 years old Caroni Rum straight from the cask like we are used from Blackadder.
No coloring, no filtering, just raw like rum used to be, and have a look at the sediment in the bottle what a beauty!
They filled 266 bottles only, so that makes it a true collector's item you must have.
In what should be a landmark release for serious rum chasers, Berry Bros & Rudd is releasing their own private bottling line of exclusive selections from all over the rum-producing world. Every single selection is of the highest quality and, having tasted them, I'm going to find it very difficult to limit myself to one or two bottles. They are best appreciated as a set and, when tasted next to one another, make for one amazing education on sugar cane spirits. The Guadeloupe Rum is supple with vanilla extract on the nose, while maintaining a classic rum character. It's not viscious or sweet, but rich with flavor and a dry, spicy heat. -David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer
Bapt & Clem's Rum
A pretty mahogany dress, intense with red highlights. The nose is of surprising aromatic complexity combining aromas of red fruit jams; of cigar box, sandalwood, balsamic vinegar, undergrowth, beeswax and fine spices (cinnamon, licorice). An aromatic festival ...
On the palate, the attack is supple and almost sweet. Then, an aromatic explosion reveals spices, cooked fruits, honey notes.
The finish is enveloping, rich and very persistent. A great rum of character
Bapt & Clem's Rum
An intense, amber color marked by gold nuances. The nose has a very nice aromatic balance in which are mixed aromas of vanilla, candied fruit fresh cane, caramel and cream cake (Basque cake). The second nose reveals heavier aromas of licorice, toasted coffee and undergrowth.
On the palate, the balance is remarkable even if the rum is warmer at the end of the mouth.
We find these pastry flavors at the end of the mouth, white pepper and this quality of aging linked to hot and humid conditions
Bapt & Clem's Rum
Pretty fire color with more intense reflections.
The particular aging of Savanna brings incredible complexity and typicity to the nose: cooked fruit (cooked apple), praline, cigar box, dried flowers, beeswax. After a few minutes, heavier aromas of gingerbread, mint (almost medical) and honey complete this palette so rich in aromas.
In the mouth, the attack is supple, the tannins are rich and round, the end of mouth slightly spicy (green pepper, sweet pepper). A marvel of finesse
"A rich and delicious bouquet, accented by smoky notes and aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus peel, and a touch of clove. The palate opens with a structured, pleasant sensation of ripe banana, pineapple, and spices layered in a smoky finish."
How intriguing, and fascinating to see the impact of the production process itself. How wonderful to discover the various states of evolution that Guyana rums go through before they reach the extensive aging phase. Three little brothers of the late nineties and the beginning of the new millennium. More precisely 1998, 2001 and 2002, will keep us company this year. An exciting opportunity for you, our valued customers, to see just how much the product changes in the barrel. Of course, the scents and flavors are similar, since they come from the same stock, you’ll enjoy seeing how their characteristics evolve. Here we are sampling the youngest. A pungent and unusual bouquet of thyme, juniper, tobacco, shiny leather. Perhaps reminiscent of an antique shop, in the mouth it’s agile, racey and aggressive - characteristic of its youth - and sweet, buttery scents alternate with toasted wood and hints of a slightly acerbic tannin.
Clear, focused, powerful and mysterious. We might say almost in prayer. Rich aromas of almond, sweet sticky pudding, biscuit, marzipan... a rum baba! Tones of citrus, fresh limoncello on an Amalfi balcony, overlooking the gulf... Sorry, I’m getting off topic. The taste propels us forwards, into the separate pages of a book, a whole world for every molecule. An extensive, long lasting range of sensations, beginning with a tasty and intense minerality, exploring every descriptive category. Fruity: banana, pineapple; Spices: star anise, cinnamon. Floral: lime, honey. Mineral: saltiness. Mysterious, enigmatic, indecipherable, magnetic, serious and powerful. A monk absorbed in his spiritual exercises...
Planas is an extraordinary blend of pot still, column and batch kettle rums. Aged for up to 6 years, it is elegant, rich, and surprisingly intense for a white rum. The complex charcoal filtration process carried out prior to bottling gives this rum it's crystal clear appearance and smooth finish.
Nose has fresh and tropical aromas like ground coffee and coconut, and the mouth has slightly fruity and creamy flavors. The extraordinary balance of this exquisite rum provides a delicate and pronounced finish.
Plantation O.F.T.D. Rum is our take on that classic style of overproof rums. And not just ours: to join him on the quest to get the blend and the proof just right, Alexandre Gabriel scoured rum joints around the world to find six grizzled old salts who knew which end of a rum bottle was which.
Together they came up with this blend of Guyana, Jamaica and Barbados rums, bottled at 69 proof degrees.
O.F.T.D. officially stands for Old Fashioned Traditional Dark but if you ask any of the seven collaborators who were in the room when this blend was born, they’ll tell you it really stands for something else that was exclaimed when the winning rum was tasted…
An elegant multi-award winning rum, El Dorado 12 Year Oldtypifies the smooth mellow sweetness of Demerara Rums . Savour it straight, on the rocks or in a classic Mai Tai cocktail.
A blend of specially selected aged rums, the youngest being no less than 12 years old, it is a combination of the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills and the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, blended to perfection and aged in old bourbon oak casks.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar. Round, mellow, full bodied palate with rich flavours of fruit and spice. The finish is delightful, elegant and dry.
Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum is the latest addition to St. Lucia Distiller’s portfolio of world class rums. The rum contains local spices and fruits including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, coconut, all spice, lemon and orange. We have also added Richeria Grandis – known locally as “Bois Bande” – a bark renowned in the Caribbean as a potent aphrodisiac to give an added kick to the rum.
These spices and fruits are added to rums distilled in copper alembic pot and continuous stills that are then aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels to give a complex and balanced spice rum. We have found Chairman’s Reserve Spice benefits from a combination of steeping certain spices and Bois Bande in the rum for up to a year while the other ingredients are added during the blending process. In this way we can bring out the flavour of the spices and fruits while preserving the complexity and harmony of the underlying rum.
The Damoiseau family produces spirits in the rhum agricole style using 100% first-pressed sugarcane juice grown at the Grand Terre estate. The Virgin Cane rum (rhum) is distilled just once to impart the true flavors of the cane juice, then the clear spirit is aged 6 months in stainless steel vats. Natural spring water is added to bring the spirit down to bottle proof.
With Xaymaca Special Dry, Plantation revives the quintessential Jamaican-style, 100% pot still rums of the 19th century with an expression of intense flavors that reveal the traditional, legendary « Rum Funk » : aromas and flavors of black banana and flambéed pineapple, locally called "Hogo," an Anglicization of the French term "Haut Goût" (high taste).
Foursquare Rum Distillery Premise. Another intriguingly named rum from Foursquare. Premise – a proposition supporting or helping to support a conclusion. Cryptic, very cryptic.
Foursquare Premise the eighth bottling in the exceptional cask series. It is one of three bottlings released in 2018 alongside Dominus and 2005.
It has just made it to the UK and is available via The Whisky Exchange it is priced at £45.25 with an ABV of 46% and your usual 70cl bottle. Foursquare Premise comes housed in the usual Foursquare stubby bottle complete with synthetic cork closure.
Cadenhead’s MPM Diamond Distillery Aged 14 Years. Another bottling from Cadenheads to celebrate their 175th Anniversary. This time from the Diamond Distillery or DDL (Demerara Distillers Limited). Today we are looking at a rum which was produced on the famous Port Mourant Still. We know this from the MPM legend on the label – Main Port Mourant (or something like that).
This rum was distilled back in 2003 and aged for 14 years, until 2017 when it was bottled by Cadenhead’s. It will be mostly Continentally aged In Europe. As mentioned already it was distilled on the Port Mourant Still. This still features heavily in DDL’s own El Dorado range, as well as in the iconic Pusser’s Rum . The 15 Year Old Pusser’s is entirely Port Mourant distillate. Well almost entirely give or take a spoonful or three of sugar…..
