Napa Valley Wines
Blend: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 9% Malbec
"The least expensive wine in the Cade portfolio is their 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 % and 9% Malbec. This is a soft, juicy, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon that fits the vintage profile. Beautifully dark ruby/purple with plenty of cassis, black cherry and plum, the wine is medium to full-bodied with supple tannins and lushness in a front-end loaded, consumer-friendly style. Drink it over the next decade." -Wine Advocate
Complex and compelling, this generous wine reflects the diversity of great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, vibrant layers of red and black fruit mingle with hints of violet, dried herbs, black licorice and graphite. The flavors echo the aromas, with lovely black currant and licorice elements supported by firm, impeccably balanced, tannins and an excellent structure. Good acidity helps to carry the juicy dark fruit notes through to a long, satisfying finish.
Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
Blend: 77% Merlot and 23% of Malbec and Syrah.
Early harvest yields high quality wine grape crop. In spite of dry conditions, vintners are using words like “quality,” “complexity”, “ageability”, and “excellent” to describe their expectations for the 2015 vintage in Napa Valley. Harvest started and ended with record early dates.
The lovely finish is the signature of this elegant, surprisingly feminine, and remarkably balanced Zinfandel that is immediately drinkable and worthy of 5-7 years more.
Flatter Merlot’s fruit by adding a similar element of fruit to poultry, pork and meat dishes (duck breast with dried cherry-Merlot sauce, roast chicken with cranberry-wild rice stuffing). Carmelized onions, roasted garlic and mushrooms are pleasant companions.
Blend: 88% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec
Our 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon artfully combines the classic elegance of the old world and the ripe fruit of California. It displays an opaque garnet color with a bouquet driven by fruity aromas of blackberry liqueur. It also offers the savory components of sage and molasses. These complex aromatics are complemented by sandalwood and nutmeg characteristics indicative of American oak aging. This is a well-structured wine with a compact and rich mid-palate buttressed by silky tannins and generous acidity. Given proper cellaring, this wine will provide drinking pleasure through 2037.
This wine displays forward fruit, supple balance and sensual promise. If the exuberance of youth is a key to your enjoyment of Zinfandel, the Mayacamas Range Zinfandel is your wine.
"It's young and it's deep; it's nicely focused on bright blackberry fruit and it's tight but promising-and that is just in its mid-volume aromas. The tight aspect comes doubly into play in the mouth where tannin and acidity combine to add coarse, grabby impressions that interrupt the wine's fairly likeable fruit and consign the wine to the cellar. Time is absolutely of the essence here, and given the remarkable Storybook Mountain track record with its Zins, we have nothing but full confidence in this one's ability to reach great heights."
