The cooler Carneros site imparts this wine with fresh green apple, Bosc pear, and lemon zest on the nose, while the warmer St. Helena site lends some tropical and melon notes. On the palate, the Carneros site gives gorgeous, bright acidity that is beautifully balanced by the creamy, lingering texture of the St. Helena fruit. A kiss of oak adds subtle layers to the nose and palate of toasted almonds, baked vanilla and spice.
The 2016 Odette Reserve Chardonnay is 100% barrel fermented in 85% new French Oak for 16 months on its lees. This "old shot wente" selection delivers notes of nectarine, lemon zest, honeysuckle, toasted brioche and white blossoms with a touch of minerality.
A Champagne House is eventually judged on the quality of its Brut Non Vintage. It is in the making of such a wine that the true Art of Champagne blending reveals itself. Grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different Crus are used for the blending of Yellow Label. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the core structure of Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse essential to a perfectly balanced wine.
"Light gold. Musky orchard fruits and dried fig on the mineral-accented nose. Fleshy and broad on the palate, offering smoky pear and nectarine flavors and a hint of honey. Finishes on a gently spicy note, with very good cling and a touch of bitter lemon pith. Things have definitely begun to turn around for this bottling, which had been lagging behind the winery's vintage offerings for some time."- Vinous Media
Bright gold in color, this wine opens with generous floral aromas of neroli, Acacia flower and honeysuckle, grounded by notes of fresh ripe apricot and white peach. A silky, viscous mouthfeel supports a complex and fleshy palate including flavors of lemon meringue and honeydew melon with a hint of mandarin orange. The finish is long and clean, with notes of grapefruit, warm vanilla and roasted pecan.
"Deftly balanced, if on the weightier side, offering complex toasty, smoky oak and rich nectarine, white peach and citrus flavors, with a pithy citrus texture that gives this a mild tannic impression. Drink now through 2020." -WS
An elegant Chardonnay with aromas of mango, white flowers and slight tangerine. Complemented by a focused mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity of our estate vineyard.
"A concentrated white peach element plays strongly on the nose of this coveted bottling, with touches of sea salt and a sharp tangerine-like edge. Ripe peach and cherimoya flavors show on the palate, but a crescendo-ing citrus-driven acidity cuts through the richness and allows more savory components like salt and smoked nut to blossom on the finish."- WE
Over the past few years we have been experimenting with crafting a sparkling wine usuing the ancestral method, AKA Pétillant Naturel. The creation of this wine requires perfect timing. It must be captured in bottle at just the right level of natural sugar so it is perfectly carbonated upon release. Much different than typical sparking wines, the finished wine has a unique raw character, loaded with energy and charisma.
This wine is everything you want out of a sparkling wine. Super refreshing, with great acidity. Crisp apples and fresh melon dominate the palate.

The beauty of this vineyard shines in the Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay. Tropical aromas of peach, fig and Meyer lemon lead to flavors of pear, pineapple and vanilla. Toasted oak notes and a hint of minerality complement the fruit. The creamy texture and balanced acidity give weight and richness to the midpalate, which carries its flavors through a long, lingering finish.
This new release is yet another great example of ZD’s signature style of producing intense, fruit forward, and well balanced Chardonnays. The grapes for this wine are from three of California’s premiere growing regions: Santa Maria valley located in Santa Barbara, Arroyo Seco in Monterey County, and the cool, fog-shrouded Napa and Sonoma Carneros. This complex blend of cool coastal regions showcased the 2016 vintage beautifully.
All of the grapes were harvested at optimal maturities and 100% barrel fermented in our cellar, which is kept at a chilly 48°F during fermentation. This long, cool fermentation helps preserve the vibrant tropical and bright citrus aromas, while also inhibiting malolactic fermentation - thus maintaining the ideal balance between the ripe fruit and bright, natural acidity. The wine is then aged for 10 months in American Oak barrels.
Aromas of pineapple, lime zest, and pear mingle with hints of vanilla and orange blossoms. The palate is rich and full bodied with the exceptional balance between fruit, toasty oak, and lively acidity. The finish is amazingly long and lasting. Enjoy!
Chardonnay Les Grandes Coutures is from three plots bordering Meursault with vine ages from 15 to 51 years. Soils are predominantly argile (clay), bringing weight and texture to this Bourgogne Blanc. The wine was aged from 12 to 14 months in 15-20% percent new French oak.
Wines from Meursault are typified by aromas and flavors of ripe melon, hazelnut, and lemon custard, and tend to be broader and more textural than wines from neighboring villages. Aging in 15-20% percent small French oak barrels lends notes of toast and vanilla.
Pairs well with roast chicken, seafood with lemon/citrus sauces and creamy pastas.
The 2015 vintage endowed this Chardonnay with a profusion of exotic, fresh aromas and flavors – honeydew melon, pineapple, plantains, honey, creme brulee, and mandarin peel – all made more enticing with bright acidity and a long, rich finish.
"Always impressive in its grasp of power and grace, this white is memorable from start to finish, beginning with a dark golden-hay color that dazzles in the glass. A strong floral component of jasmine invites on the nose, while sparkling acidity maintains a freshness amidst the integrated oak and delicious flavors of honeyed pear and crème brûlée." -WE
Larmandier-Bernier "Latitude" is composed exclusively of Chardonnays originating from the same “latitude”: the south of Vertus. This is a generous terroir: the cuvée Latitude is the perfect festive Champagne, which still retains the characteristic pureness of our Estate’s Champagnes.
"Alluringly aromatic, this combines saffron, fennel pollen, fresh apple, freshly baked bread, plus tangy buckwheat and ocean breeze, all of which reunite on a buoyant and polished palate, joined by raw almond and with the saline, alkaline and chalky mineral elements gaining prominence en route to a mouthwatering finish." -Wine Advocate
A brilliant and intense golden yellow in color. An intense and rich nose with notes of dried fruit (almonds and hazelnuts) as well as toasted or grilled aromas. After a few years of ageing, the nose evolves towards deeper notes of honey and pine resin. Full-bodied and generous, it is a rich wine with a rounded feel.
This wine brings out the best of sweet/savory dishes and particularly pairs with desserts and pastries. It adds depth and flavors to your dishes.
Glistening color with light amber highlights, indicating a year of very fine ripeness. Soft, almost timid bubbles, in a fine, slow and steady flow. There is a rich bouquet with confit fruit (lemon, orange), white flowers (lilies) and lightly roasted nuts (hazelnuts and almonds). On airing, the dominant fruitiness becomes intense, almost explosive: a sabayon of vine peaches, apricots, melon and mango. The mouth features a rounded, complex ballet of fruit. The texture is incredibly concentrated, giving the impression of biting into a ripe, fleshy fruit. The palate is enveloped by this depth of juicy, creamy, silky fruit, which soon makes way for a pure, sharp, graceful freshness. A transition follows from ripe fruit to a clear, light, delicate environment. Ripeness, softness and concentration arise from freshness and mineral quality, transforming the ripe fruit into a slightly sharp citrus flavor; the warmer notes make way for flowers, citrus zests and nuts. After this rapid succession of flavors, there is a lasting impression of harmony: the aromas, flavors, slight bitterness and freshness come in just the right proportions, intermingling to form a perfectly integrated yet complex whole. A few hints of tatin tart and Danish pastries add a final touch to the already complex range of aromas.
