"Based on Pinot Noir the NV Crémant d'Alsace Rosé Brut has a very pale color with just a hint of rosé. Very delicate fruit aroma with hints of red berries and flowers on the very subtle, fresh and elegant nose lead to a full-flavored and quite expressive palate. The wine is quite powerful and fruit intense but in a discreet and elegant way. Firmly structured but provided with fine bubbles and an aromatic aftertaste there is really finesse in this very well-made and distinctive sparkling wine." -Robert Parker
Color: A light shade of powder pink, clear and bright, with abundant bubbles.
Nose: Subtle, it is fresh and refined, revealing delicate aromas of strawberries, raspberries, blood orange and blackcurrant.
Palate: The attack is precise and sharp, leading to a subtle, tightly knit palate, featuring a lot of freshness and finesse. Notes of red berries and Bartlett pear, showing remarkable minerality through chalk and graphite notes. •
Finish: Delicate and fine, it is elegant with a sophisticated finish, like a finely crafted, mineral lace.
"A big and rich blanc de blancs that shows an intense and layered character. Full and powerful Champagne with layers of fruit. It is so vivacious and long. Energetic. From Mesnil, Avize, Chouilly and Crémant. Needs a year or two more to soften"- James Suckling
" *Cellar Selection * This is a superb Blanc de Blancs that boasts great minerality, texture and intense fruit flavor. It’s a finely structured wine, now approaching maturity with its apple, citrus and green pear notes. Lingering in the mouth, it is a beautifully long-lasting, pure wine. Drink until 2018 and probably beyond." (RV) - Wine Enthusiast
Fresh and long tasting, the Brut Réserve may be drunk on all occasions.
Persistent mousse, with fine bubbles rising slowly. Pale salmon pink in color, with a shade of gold. A nose of red fruits and fresh pear. Delicate fruit on the palate, elegant, and showing great finesse.
"An subtle nose with plenty of fine autolysis aromas of fresh bread and sweetly fragrant yeasty notes, plus some gentle spice and chalky notes. The palate unleashes beautiful wild strawberry fruit flavors, super fresh, fleshy and pure. Great balance and depth. Drink now."- James Suckling
The grapes that go into Crede enjoy an ideal habitat in the clay-laden earth with a subsoil of marine sandstone, known as "crede", that is common in this part of the countryside. This type of terrain is particularly beneficial to the grapes, preventing undue stress from aridity during critical periods, while enriching the grapes with noble acids, varietal aromas and fruitiness.
"A fresh and bright sparkling wine with lemons and sliced green apples. Medium body and a lovely beaded texture from the bubbles. Creamy. Fresh finish."-James Suckling
The delicate blush and old gold colors of the La Grande Annee are a sign of maturity and of Bollinger's winemaking skills. Its aromas are a testimony to the barrels its aged in: toasted bread and brandied fruit, plus notes of exotic spices, rhubarb and stone fruit. The bubbles are powerful yet soft and there is remarkable structure and length on the palate.
"Impressive concentration and power here. This is really assertive with ripe yellow orchard fruits and citrus within a core encased in a layer of more savory, toasty notes on both the nose and palate. There's that gentle hint of formaldehyde that is the traditional stamp of the house plus savory woody notes, white mushrooms and some chalk and spices, too. The palate has a fleshy opening, filling out with peach and hazelnut flavors before a smooth ride to the finish. Approachable and complex. Drink it now through to 2020."- James Suckling
