A 6.1% Scottish stock pale ale brewed with Goldings and Hallertau Mittelfruh.

This beer combines two pale ales. The older and funkier was hopped with Goldings from @brookhousehops whilst the younger, hoppier, which accounts for the majority of the blend, was hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrüh from @locherhopfen

Though we often think of Hallertau Mittelfrüh as a lager hop, old landrace European varieties would have been very at home in old, Scottish stock beers, lending an elegant complexity which is very tasty with fruity fermentation character.

Tight foam climbs from the glass with aromas of fresh flowers, preserved lemons, dank leatherous funk and apricot conserve. It's bright, minerally, sharply bitter and moreishly noble on the palate. 

The name is a reference to a Baudelaire poem about albatrosses, for the brewer resembles this prince of cloud and sky, the winged voyager who frequents the tempest and laughs at the hazebro: when exiled on the earth, the butt of Untappd ratings, his giant wings prevent him from walking.
