The Rafanelli family is now in its fourth generation of growing grapes and making wine in the Dry Creek Valley. Our winery is small and family operated. Our focus has always been on quality over quantity.
At A. Rafanelli Winery, we work hard at maintaining a tradition of producing premium grapes and handcrafting world class wines. We believe that the wines are first made in the vineyard and then achieve their maximum potential through traditional winemaking practices such as open top fermentation and non-filtration.
Our quaint and rustic winery sits on a knoll overlooking the scenic Dry Creek Valley and is surrounded by some of our terraced hillside vineyards. The winery consistently specializes in some of the finest Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
With a warm, dry spring hastening the onset of budbreak, the 2013 growing season began full of promise. The perfect weather persisted for flowering and fruit set, producing smaller canopies and small berries with intense concentration and firm tannins. With the exception of one heat spike in late June, the consistent, moderate temperatures, lack of major heat spikes, beautifully long season, and a very early harvest made for one of the most superb vintages in Napa Valley’s history. Our grapes were hand-picked between September 16th and 27th, fermented individually in small tanks, aged in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled after 23 months in barrel on August 28th, 2015.
On the nose, this wine is full of black fruit aromas enlivened by notes of black tea, savory spices, chaparral and tobacco leaf. In the mouth, the wine envelops the palate with super plush, fine-grained tannins and intense flavors of brambly fruit, coffee, and dark chocolate, overlying a core of superb minerality that continues into a lingering and deliciously satisfying finish. Notes winemaker Francoise Peschon, This wine, with its generous aromas, flavors and supple tannins, reflects the fine terroir of the vineyards and the extraordinary vintage.
"Debut vintage of the Araujos' new venture. Mid (not deep) crimson. Light and lifted on the nose. Very distinctive. Very racy and new wave. Françoise Peschon is the winemaker, Michel Rolland the oenologist. Polished. The winery that bought the rest of the grapes kept them on the vine for another three weeks! Very long. Drink 2018-2030."- Jancis Robinson
"Accendo's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a surprisingly open-knit, succulent wine for the year. There is good lift and creaminess throughout, but less of the energy, depth and structural intensity that is such a signature of this vintage. Mocha, black cherry, spice, and tobacco are some of the notes that open up in the glass. This is one of the more supple, accessible 2013 Cabernets readers will come across."- Vinous

Finish: Delicate and fine, it is elegant with a sophisticated finish, like a finely crafted, mineral lace.
Banshee has changed up the varieties this vintage but the wine continues to delivery. A delightful, dry, fresh and very quaffable rose from 38% Grenache, 26% Barbera, 25% Syrah and 12% Pinot Noir. The wine is a pale rose and peach combination in color and lip smacking as it goes down. It also possesses the depth to pair with everything from the lightest amuse bouche to the main course.
This wine leads with a bouquet of red fruits and cherry blossom aromas. The silky palate is layered with notes of cherry, hibiscus, mandarin peel and a faint coppery counterpoint to the fruit. In addition, one might find a hint of dark plum. The finish is fine-boned and harmonious.
Banshee Wines was founded by three friends Noah Dorrance, Baron Ziegler, and Steve Graf from the Midwest and East Coast who shared a passion for wine and a lifelong dream of owning their own winery. In 2009, they pooled their money together to make the 1st vintage of Banshee Wines Pinot Noir, and they've been doing it ever since.
For years, Bogle winemakers have sought out vines ranging in age from 60 to 80 years old for our Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly head-trained and dry farmed pioneers produce low yields of small, concentrated clusters of fruit, producing incredibly intense and flavorful wines.
Bogle’s “heritage” Petite Sirah is known for its concentration and jammy, luscious flavors. The 2016 vintage is no exception. Dark purple stains the glass, while inky and succulent blueberries and blackberries overwhelm the palate. Juicy plums and rhubarb come together, followed by touches of roasted, savory and earthy tones that round out the mouthfeel. Supple and spicy, this full bodied wine was aged in American oak for 12 months. Toasty vanilla, mocha and a bit of cocoa combine with ample tannins to create a finish with structure and character.
Bowmore 12yo has a place in many hearts as Islay's 'medium-peated' malt. A pronounced iodine character with plenty of pepper, the current 12yo bottling is a welcome return to the classic Bowmores of the 1960s and '70s, with the emphasis on tropical fruit and smoke. A deserved runner-up in our Whisky of the Year 2014-15 blind tasting.
Producers Tasting Notes:
On The Eye: Mellow mahogany
Breathe In: Creamy caramel toffee, with ripe fruit and smoke aromas
Sip: Incredibly complex, with beautiful soft fruit and chocolate balanced with a light smokiness
Savour: The long and wonderfully balanced finish

Ageworthy and expressive, Dehlinger Syrahs remain a favorite of the Dehlinger family and our winemaking team nearly three decades after we grafted a small portion of our vineyard to the variety in 1990.
Our three acres of Syrah thrive on their hillside location. The lush growth and pendulous clusters of these vines attest to how well the grape adapts to growing in the Russian River Valley: the region’s cooling fog helps the variety retain a spicy, complex character, while the morning sun allows the grape to achieve ripeness and flavor.
Recommended pairing this with rich double and triple cream or goat cheeses. Perfect with just a few toasted nuts, it will also enhance simple to complex meals. Oysters, poultry and even meat dishes work well and trying it with oriental cuisine.
