Today’s wine industry in Central Otago wine industry is due to the pioneering efforts of the Mills family. They were among the first settlers in this sparse section of the valley and they have made Wanaka their home for five generations. In 1975, Rolfe Mills planted Otago’s first vines, over 20 varietals to see what might work. Otago’s fame as a pinot noir region is thanks to the family’s vision.

 Nick Mills has inherited the family’s vision to make highly acclaimed pinot noirs that are elegance personified with ethereal aromas that lead to a weightless palate full of red fruits and finely hewn spices. 2019 is among the best that Nick Mills has made. Rare and special, the intricate bouquet and subtly persistent palate shows the master at work.
