A wonderfully complex and beguiling whisky from one of Scotland’s lesser known distilleries. This is one you’ll want to take time with and ponder the flavors. With each sip, each pour, you’ll find the flavors build and it’s all supported by a remarkably unctuous texture. Nose: Warm cereal notes appear before giving way to warm slices of white peach. Cola syrup and tart pear slices appear atop warm oatmeal: blackcurrant and Brown Licorice All-Sorts show themselves in time. Layers of milk chocolate appear after a few hearty sips. Palate: The warm cereal notes continue on the palate with Cracklin’ Oat Bran becoming honied with Bit-O-Honey candy bars and then returning Brown Licorice All-Sorts. In time the palate reveals toasted walnuts with apricot preserves. Finish: A long, warm finish lingers on notes of plump raisins and Whoppers.
