Onward with Outward
Outward Wines is the small-lot Central Coast project of Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique, who met through rock climbing and started the label in 2016 with two barrels of Syrah from the Pace family's backyard vineyard in Santa Ynez. Ryan comes from a California winemaking family and spent years as a winemaker in the Santa Maria Valley; Natalie built and sold her own business before turning to wine full time. Since 2020 the two have run their own production space in Grover Beach, farming a handful of estate acres and sourcing the rest from organic and biodynamic growers up and down the Central Coast.
We like their 2025 Grenache Rose so much we’re featuring as a stand alone bottle for July.

About the Winemaking: Grenache from the Two Wolves Vineyard was picked early for freshness, whole-cluster pressed, and fermented with native yeast in neutral vessels. The wine was left unfined and unfiltered, in keeping with Outward's low-intervention approach across their whole range. Tasting Notes: Pale copper-pink in the glass. Bright red currant, watermelon rind and a touch of white peach on the nose, with a saline, savory edge underneath. The palate is dry and taut, with crisp acidity, a faint textural grip from being unfiltered, and a clean, mineral finish. |
