Ridge Geyserville Sonoma County Zinfandel

From their estate in Alexander Valley, the 2014 Ridge "Geyserville" was made from the old-vine Zinfandel fruit that's been the backbone of this classic wine since 1966. With the addition of a small amount of Carignane, Petite Sirah, and Mataro for structure, Geyserville holds an amazing track record for aging potential, and will cellar for several decades. The winemaker notes the dark, purple-ruby wines shows aromas of blackberry jam with "candied plums, gravel, spearmint, sweet oak, tropical floral notes. Fresh, intense bramble fruit entry; lively acidity, elegant tannins, mint, gravelly earth. Multi-dimensional: layered, deep, seductive flavors; lingering finish.
