Genevieve 2013 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs
Importer's Notes:
The fruit comes from a mixture of 27-year-old sourced and estate-grown vines. Melissa produces, ages, riddles, and disgorges at a facility in Paarl, with hopes to one day carry this out at her beautiful little farm in Bot River.
Almost more of a petillant style in its subtlety, yet it opens up into an incredibly complex and deeply-golden colored wine. This Cap Classique is all about texture – it’s mouth-coating and rich, yet high enough in acidity that it stays fresh and leaves you wanting more. Notes of tangerine, rich honey, biscuit, jasmine, kiwi, passionfruit, and saline notes. High intensity, very mineral and leesy. Super creamy on palate and lasts forever.
This elegant wine was aged on lees for 10 years and made with Chardonnay grapes from Bot River. It offers a nose of subtle ripe stone fruit, brioche, nuts and apples. Delicate layers show notes of apple, lime and biscuit on the creamy palate. —92pts Jesica Vargas Wine Enthusiast
