Ichiro's Malt Chichibu The U.S. Edition 2025 Single Malt
Reminder: We only ship spirits within the state of California.
This newest release of Chichibu single malt exclusive to the United States focuses on beer cask maturation to integrate the tropical hoppy flavors of IPA and imperial stout to Chichibu’s already fruit-forward palate. Matured for 5 to 9 years in a total of 16 barrels ranging from ex-bourbon to ex-IPA and ex-imperial stout, this lightly peated whisky displays all the wonderful zip of a well-balanced, cask-aged ale. Think candied orange peel, dried pineapple, vanilla pastry cream, hoppy bitterness, and you are halfway there. Devastatingly flavorful and dynamically balanced, this newest U.S. Edition is one of our favorites yet.
ABOUT THE LABEL
The 2025 U.S. Edition Chichibu single malt continues the imaginative imagery of its previous two vintages with the inclusion of Mark Twain enjoying a glass of Ichiro’s Malt. The iconic writer and humorist is often referred to as “The Father of Modern American Literature.” Twain, born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, took his pen name from the steamboat term meaning “two fathoms deep” – the safe water operating depth of 12 feet. Among Twain’s most famous works is the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which is often referred to as the great American novel. Outspokenly anti-imperialist in his late age, Twain was a vocal critic of oppression in all its forms and supported the abolition of slavery as well as the women’s suffrage movement.
