From Wachau vineyards in Weissenkirchen, Durnstein and Loiben, these are relatively young vines (15 years) planted close to the Danube. 100% stainless steel tank, and on the lees until February. Excellent 2019 vintage! Hogl is a small family winery located on the steep slopes of the Spitzer Graben run by father and son team, Josef and Georg. This aromatic and lightly spiced Federspiel is a blend of GV grown in sand on the banks of the Danube river. Year in and year out (and 2019 is a great year!) the J&G Federspiel is delightfully quaffable and retains the common ideology at the core of Hogl wine: clean, complex and balanced. Their farming incorporates compost and organic viticulture where they feel it is needed and the coolness of the area provides slow ripening for optimal aromatics.
