Educated Guess North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon
Our North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon opens with concentrated aromas of dark berries, plums, and a hint of cracked peppercorn. The primary source for the Cabernet fruit is from the famed Beckstoffer Crimson Ridge Vineyard. This vineyard is known for its volcanic soils and has a western facing orientation, which provides the wine with amazing structure and depth due to its extended hang time. The Oakville portion of the blend comes from a vineyard tucked away between Groth and Rudd Wineries, and is called “The Money Vineyard” (no pun intended) and is owned and farmed by the Laird family. This Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon brings to the blend a perfect sense of elegance and smooth velvety tannins. The final blend is luscious and full bodied, excites the senses, and is packed full of exotic flavors of tea spice, dark chocolate, and fruit preserves.

Ehlers Portrait Red Blend
Tasting Notes: The 2017 Ehlers Estate Portrait is a special red blend of the 4 Bordeaux varietals we have planted at the Estate. The wine is showing deep layers of garnet color. With only 50% Cabernet Sauvignon to give structure to the wine, the big personalities of the Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot really shine in this blend. Aromas of red berries, fig compote, ripe strawberries, cassis and violet flowers flowered aromas of vanilla, mocha and licorice. Long and balanced, the mouthfeel is rich but with silky tannins. Full finish with a long mineral post taste. Balanced acidity promises good aging potential to the wine. Ready to drink now, but it will age extremely well for 15-20 more years.

Hamel Family Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep ruby in the glass, the complex nose marries ripe plum and dark cherry fruit over notes of olive, vanilla and balsamic. The dark fruits carry through to the palate framed by a round and supple structure. A lovely juiciness gives the wine energy against the dense, chewy tannins. The wine is accessible in its youth, and will continue to gracefully develop over the next ten years.
"The 2016 Hamel Family Ranch Red Wine (mainly Cabernet Sauvignon) is deep ruby-purple and scented of crème de cassis, graphite, black cherry pie, vanilla bean and sweet spices with notes of earth, dried herbs and blueberries. The full-bodied, rich, powerful palate gives up intense, minerally fruit, with a muscular tannic frame and good freshness to counter the long, dense finish. Give this time in bottle—it should age well. " 93 Pts Wine Advocate

Heitz Lot C Cabernet Sauvignon
The palate of the 2016 Lot C-91 exhibits the density and length that only the truly great wines of the world are capable of. The soft expression of red and black fruits are a result of harvesting earlier while the fruit is still fresh and vibrant and having patience as the wine undergoes one of the longest aging regimens in the region. A clear differentiation between the Napa Valley Cabernet and the Lot C-91 is the presence of savory elements such as sage, rosemary, cured meats, and black pepper. This patient approach allows for the integration of tannin, alcohol, acidity, and fruit. The result is a wine of incredible complexity and harmony, that is true to the place it comes from.
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
"Blue fruit with stone, lavender and currant aromas and flavors. Fresh herbs too. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins. Such firmness and focus and beauty. A blend of all their top single vineyards. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
