Mint Julep Recipe –

Ingredients:

- 2 oz Bourbon

- 1/4 oz Simple Syrup

- 8-10 Mint Leaves

- Pebble Ice

- Julep Cup

- Mint Garnish

Directions: In a julep tin or rocks glass gently muddle mint with simple syrup. Pack the cup with crushed ice. Pour bourbon over ice, garnish with a bouquet of mint.

Paloma –

Ingredients:

- 2 oz Tequila

- 1 oz Grapefruit Juice

- 3/4 oz Agave/Simple Syrup

- 3/4 oz Lime Juice

- Top with soda water

- Grapefruit Garnish

Directions: Pour ingredients into a shaker, add ice, then shake. Fine strain over ice-filled Collins glass, then top with soda water and garnish with a grapefruit wheel. 

Margarita –

Ingredients:

- 2 oz Tequila

- 1 oz Lime Juice

- 3/4 oz Agave Nectar

- 1/2 oz Triple Sec (Cointreau)

- Lime Garnish

- Salt Rim (optional)

Directions: Pour ingredients into a shaker, add ice, then shake. Fine strain into an ice-filled rocks glass, garnish with lime wedge or wheel.

 

Derby Day at Balboa Cafe –

When: Saturday, May 4th 9:00 am – 10:30 pm

Where: Balboa Cafe (3199 Fillmore St, San Francisco)

Join us for a festive afternoon of celebrating the greatest two minutes in sports, although we guarantee more than two minutes of fun. Partners include Ketel One Botanicals and Bulleit Bourbon cocktail specials + our once-a-year Jambalaya lunch and dinner special (it may not be Kentucky, but it’s darn good). Get your photo in front of the KetelOne Botanical wall and with our very special guest Benzo the horse, who will be making a very special appearance on Derby Day. He accepts kisses and pets, but no pony rides due to his slight frame.
