JULY BEERS: Stillwater Artisanal Ales

In 2010, Stillwater Artisanal Ales was founded by Baltimore native Brian Strumke. Brian spent most of his life as a renowned electronic DJ and producer. In 2004, after years of touring, Brian decided to dabble in another creative passion. He began brewing traditional beer styles with un-traditional brewing methods in the backyard of his Baltimore City home. Experimenting with herbs, spices and wild yeasts, Brian garnered the attention of beer judges in various local brewing competitions - winning multiple awards. Six years later, Brian struck a deal with Brooklyn based distributing company Twelve Percent Imports. Brian didn’t own his own brewing facility, but instead brewed at other breweries across the world. He certainly hit the ground running. In their first year, Stillwater produced 50 different beers across 12 different countries. In the same year, Brian Strumke/Stillwater ranked #2 in the “Best New Brewers in the World” category by international beer rating resource RateBeer.com. Though Stillwater still does not have their own brewing facility, this hasn’t stopped Brian from producing consistent, innovative, complex tasting beers – some of which the beer world has never seen before.

Preternatural Cuvee 2

A barrel-aged, blended farmhouse ale brewed with Viognier grapes. This beer was aged in French and Hungarian oak for three years … yes, three years! Refermented in the bottle, this lightly carbonated beer produces huge notes of peach, grape must, herbs and pear. A slight funkiness that you’d expect from a farmhouse ale but not overbearing.

Last Daze of Disco -single can

Though brewed in Hawaii, this beer is a classic representation of a Belgian farmhouse ale. Zesty, clove, peppery are the prominent flavors and aromas, adding to the complexity of this well-balanced, easy drinking beer.

JUNE BEERS: Original Pattern

Original Pattern Brewing Company is an award-winning, employee-owned brewery in Oakland, California. The brewery admires all styles of beer and brews an array of IPA’s (hazy and clear), Lagers, Sours, Stouts and Porters. Their team has connections “down under” and they occasionally showcase a range of unique and hard to get New Zealand hops in their IPAs. Original Pattern was named one of the top 10 Best New breweries in the U.S. by USA Today Magazine. They took home a Gold medal at the 2019 California Craft Brewer’s Cup in the American Sour category and a Silver medal in the Belgian style ale category. Amazing accolades for a brewery that is only two years old! If you're a local, you can visit their facility and enjoy outdoor dining 5 days a week.

Secrets of Sabro 4 pack:  A hazy IPA that exudes aromas of pineapple, citrus, and passionfruit. The flavor profile is complex with notes of coconut, dragon-fruit, and cedar. Soft mouthfeel, medium body with a lingering fruity finish.

Mosaic 4 pack:  A Dry-hopped American Style Lager with Mosaic hops with flavors of citrus, pine, and a hint of toasted oat. Crisp and dry with a pleasant citrusy finish.
