FLAVOR: Superb. Enormously deep and complex. Aristocratic and of strong tannic race. Delicious structure and acidity of notable life. Dense, powerful, with layers of plum and very ripe black cherry, which balances with the slight acidity of wild blackberry and the smoky note of toasted oak.

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This is a tannic tannat, upping the ante on the grape-skin tannins of the wine with pump-overs and punchdowns during fermentation, followed by aging in second-use barrels. The wine may be full, but it isn’t heavy, feeling open and airy for a big red. Decant a bottle for duck braised with prunes and Armagnac. (Feb 2020)"
