This Pinot Noir is identifiably “German” in personality: there’s a very woodsy, savory quality, along with very fine-grained tannins, modest alcohol, and refreshing—not sharp—acidity. There is a well-integrated mix of loamy earth/forest floor notes complementing bright black and red cherry fruit, and it’s very much ready to drink now. Decant it 15 minutes before serving (it is bottled under screw cap, so let the wine breathe some air first) at 60 degrees in Burgundy stems and prepare for a sweet-savory serenade of red and black cherry, wild strawberry, rhubarb, rose petals, and lots of underbrush, smoke, leather, and herbs. You are going to be impressed!

Where do you ship wine?: Within California and to these states: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OK, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. Someone 21 or older has to sign for it, so send it somewhere a grown-up will be home.
How long will it take?: Orders usually leave the shop within 1–3 business days. In very hot or freezing weather we may hold a shipment a few days rather than cook your wine.
Can I pick it up instead?: Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and pick Fillmore or Noe Valley. We'll email you when it's ready. Bring an ID.
What do I do when it arrives?: Store corked bottles on their side somewhere cool and dark. If it traveled, give it a day or two before opening; wine gets a little rattled in transit too.
Do you discount mixed cases?: Mix any 12 bottles of still wine and save 10% at checkout. Champagne and sparkling aren't included.
