Gros Ventre High Country Red

$36.99

High Country Red continues to evolve as a playful, polished Pinot-Gamay blend inspired by the Passetoutgrains wines of Burgundy. Don’t be fooled by its vibrant charm and easy drinkability: this is a serious wine that’s consistently earned praise from top critics and found its place on the lists of some of the country’s best restaurants.

Now in its eighth vintage -- and third using 100% Sonoma Coast fruit -- the 2024 is a blend of Gamay from Las Cimas Vineyard in Healdsburg and Pinot Noir from a small vineyard near Sebastopol. This year Pinot takes center stage with 62% of the blend and Gamay making up the other 38%.

Each year, this cuvée gains in nuance and depth while staying true to its roots: fresh, expressive, and endlessly versatile. On the nose and palate, it’s bright and lifted, with notes of strawberry, cranberry, violet, and savory herbs. Pair it with everything from soft cheeses and grilled salmon to charcuterie, wood-fired pizza, or even just a handful of Marcona almonds.
