Although the Collines Rhodaniennes may not be a household name, the wines from this small Northern Rhône appellation can rival some of France's great Syrahs. Opening with notes of blackberry, fresh tilled earth, and just a touch of bacon fat, the palate is rich and concentrated, but with enough lift and life to keep things interesting all the way to its robust finish.

Their winemaking philosophy leans toward minimal intervention, favoring indigenous yeasts and using only miniscule amounts of sulfites postmalolactic fermentation.
