This wine benefits beautifully from a prolonged aging in wood, where the Sangiovese grape is given time to develop the depth and texture authentic to its character. The fragrances are given time to expand, enrich and grow into a warm radiance of scents typical of this Riserva: mirabelle and blood orange, hints of rosehip and bramble berries, sage and thyme and delicate white pepper. The palate presents an elegance and clarity of approach, with a precise balance between softness, freshness, and tannic perception, finishing with a long, saline and slightly spiced persistence that leaves a sense of joyful vitality. Do I need to show ID?: Yes. Every delivery and pickup needs someone 21 or older with a valid ID.
Where do you ship wine?: Within California and to these states: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OK, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. Someone 21 or older has to sign for it, so send it somewhere a grown-up will be home.
How long will it take?: Orders usually leave the shop within 1–3 business days. In very hot or freezing weather we may hold a shipment a few days rather than cook your wine.
Can I pick it up instead?: Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and pick Fillmore or Noe Valley. We'll email you when it's ready. Bring an ID.
What do I do when it arrives?: Store corked bottles on their side somewhere cool and dark. If it traveled, give it a day or two before opening; wine gets a little rattled in transit too.
Do you discount mixed cases?: Mix any 12 bottles of still wine and save 10% at checkout. Champagne and sparkling aren't included.
