From one of the appellation’s leading “terroirs”, a real unofficial “Grand Cru”(there is not yet an official list of “Grands Crus” for Saumur-Champigny). Our “Fours à Chaux” cuvee is one of our 3 special cuvées.
Here, the soil is sand with clay above the tuffeau. Due to the south east exposure and the light texture, the soil warms up easily and manages to give very ripe grapes whatever the vintage.
Age of the vines: from 20 to 50 years old
Aromatic complexity, elegance, light and round tannins are the signature of “Fours à Chaux”.

Wine ships within California and to most other states. Beer and spirits can only ship to addresses in California. That’s state law, not us being difficult.

Do I need to show ID?: Yes. Every delivery and pickup needs someone 21 or older with a valid ID.
Where do you ship wine?: Within California and to these states: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OK, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. Someone 21 or older has to sign for it, so send it somewhere a grown-up will be home.
How long will it take?: Orders usually leave the shop within 1–3 business days. In very hot or freezing weather we may hold a shipment a few days rather than cook your wine.
Can I pick it up instead?: Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and pick Fillmore or Noe Valley. We'll email you when it's ready. Bring an ID.
What do I do when it arrives?: Store corked bottles on their side somewhere cool and dark. If it traveled, give it a day or two before opening; wine gets a little rattled in transit too.
Do you discount mixed cases?: Mix any 12 bottles of still wine and save 10% at checkout. Champagne and sparkling aren't included.
