If you were to look up the textbook definition of blaufränkisch, this wine would be front and centre. Winemaker Birgit's vineyards are balanced between the warm winds of the Lake Neusiedl and cool breezes of the Leithaberg mountains. Her soils are a complex balance of juxtaposing minerals & simply bursting with flora and fauna. From a certified organic and biodynamic plot on the sunny southeast facing slopes of the Leitha Mountains. From these beautiful shell-y limestone soils, the blau’s tannins are RIPE & a quick 18 day maceration gives a striking colour while maintaining freshness. Dark red, black cherry, bilberry cola, blueberry, pepper grass, charcoal, mushroom circle, gravel crunch & sweet spice. Pair with a nice hunk of meat or spicy tomato pastas.

Do I need to show ID?: Yes. Every delivery and pickup needs someone 21 or older with a valid ID.
Where do you ship wine?: Within California and to these states: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OK, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. Someone 21 or older has to sign for it, so send it somewhere a grown-up will be home.
How long will it take?: Orders usually leave the shop within 1–3 business days. In very hot or freezing weather we may hold a shipment a few days rather than cook your wine.
Can I pick it up instead?: Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and pick Fillmore or Noe Valley. We'll email you when it's ready. Bring an ID.
What do I do when it arrives?: Store corked bottles on their side somewhere cool and dark. If it traveled, give it a day or two before opening; wine gets a little rattled in transit too.
Do you discount mixed cases?: Mix any 12 bottles of still wine and save 10% at checkout. Champagne and sparkling aren't included.
