Aia dei Colombi Fiano
$16.99
Fiano is thought by many to be the grape behind the ancient Roman wine Apianum. The root of this word refers to the bees which were present at the time of ripening do to the high sugar levels. A low-yielding varietal, Fiano was falling out of favor in Italy until fairly recently as producers in the Southern regions have begun improving their wine making techniques.
This wine has a fair amount of weight on the palate, but brings good acidity alongside. Floral notes along with honey and nuts round out the package.
