Light garnet in color with faint orange hues around the edge of the glass.
Rosehip and violet notes; wild berries, cherry, balsamic accent and an essence of forest floor when you swirl it. At the first sip it is surprisingly soft and smooth. The trick here is to open the bottle a few hours or a day before serving. Your patience will be rewarded with intriguing elegance and a long, silky finish.

The Barbaresco by Gaja is one of the most prestigious Italian wines, elegant and known all over the world. It is intense, soft and velvety, with an impeccable bouquet of berries, violets and woody hues. It is aged for 24 months in barriques and large barrels. Elegant and power in liquid form!
"This gorgeous red evokes rose, strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit, shaded by tobacco, tar and wild thyme notes. Pure, sleek and intense, with a firm base of tannins and vibrant acidity for support. This should evolve beautifully. Be patient. Best from 2022 through 2043."- Wine Spectator
100% Nebbiolo grown in calcareous clay/sandy soils at 360 to 400 meters above sea level located within the Bric Micca cru. “Baluchin” translates to “star” in Piedmontese, as one can see the stars from this vineyard that sits at the highest position within the cru, all planted to dramatic 45°-55° slopes. Fermentation lasts 7-8 days under temperature control. Malolactic occurs in oak. Aged in medium-toasted, small French oak barrels (10% new) for 20-22 months. 400 cases produced.

The 2017 Gaja Barbaresco is a garnet color in appearance. A generous and flowery nose with intense notes of rose, licorice and blood orange. It is showing intense red and black fruit driven by aromas of strawberry, sour black cherry and mulberry. The palate is fleshy, loaded with the same fruity notes raising from the glass. The fine-grained tannins balance the acidity and lead to a wine with a considerable volume on the palate. The finish is lingering and elegantly sweet.
"Glorious aromas of flowers, crushed berries, strawberries and dried herbs. Some tea. Full-bodied and layered with a wonderfully curated, polished tannin structure and backbone. Give it three or four years to soften." 97 Points James Suckling
Bright ruby red with garnet reflections. Fine, elegant, and fruity aromas of raspberry, strawberry and
black cherries. Dry, warm, quite smooth, fresh, medium-bodied, rightly tannic, intense, quite persistent, fresh and fruity finish
Match with pasta with meat sauce and medium seasoned cheese.
100% Nebbiolo grown in the commune of Babaresco, where calcareous blue marl soils dominate. All of the fruit comes from the slopes of the Muncagöta cru, which happens to be the dialect form of “Moccagatta”. The grapes are macerated on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks, then the wine is aged in French oak barriques, of which approximately 40% are new, for 18 months. 1,300 cases produced annually.
"The 2015 Barbaresco Angelo is a blend of fruit mostly from Ronchi, with pieces of Montersino and Loreto that sees 55 days on the skins. Today, the Angelo is very tight and austere. Crushed rose petal, cedar and dried herb notes are pushed forward, while the fruit is more restrained in its expression initially. Time in the glass brings out the wine's pedigree as well as the raciness and natural richness of the year. There is so much to like here. Drinking window: 2020-2035. 93+ points
