UNTI Montepulciano 2015
"Upon returning from a trip to Italy's Le Marche region, my dad planted Montepulciano in 2005. We now have over 2 acres of Montepulciano and wish we planted more. In fact, there are less than 100 acres of it planted here in California, which is crazy. 2015 was the third consecutive drought vintage here in Dry Creek, which plays right into making great Montepulciano. We routinely thin our crop by 40 to 60% in order to make a more structured and complex wine. This dark and full bodied wine was aged in 25% new French oak barrels for 13 months. If you haven't guess by now, we love Montepulciano.
