The Stowaway Red Table Wine

Named after a spunky lizard who stowed away in the box truck rented to transport our grapes across the county line, 2016 The Stowaway Mendocino County Red Table Wine is a field blend of old-vine Zinfandel and Carignane from the village of Talmage outside of Ukiah.  These vines were planted in 1948 and are farmed organically by Troy and Tia Sutterwhite. In 2016, they chose to harvest the fruit early in order to maintain the grapes’ natural acidity and to keep the alcohol in check.  This resulted in a brisk, fresh, lightly colored wine with bright strawberry fruit, a touch of herbal mint and plenty of Zinfandel spice.  Coming in at 11.8% alcohol, we suggest chilling The Stowaway a little bit and serving with all your favorite holiday dishes. *132 cases produced
