Seven Stills Blue Funke Blueberry Kettle Sour
As the nights get shorter there's only one way to make sure you aren’t missing out on any quality beer drinking, and that's to get your hands on something that you can crush from morning to midnight. Blue Fünke is certainly about as close as you can get to that concept, playing off of a traditional German style of brewing that is essentially FOR drinking in the hotter months. That process, referred to as Kettle Souring, adds a distinct tart approach to the beer that not only tingles the pallet and livens the taste buds, but adds just enough acidity to keep your mouth watering. Throw in about 400 pounds of blueberry puree in to the fermenter and your looking at essentially “Blueberry Soda-Beer”… for lack of better words. This may be our first canned sour, but I can assure you, after tasting a bit out of the fermenter the other day, it certainly won’t be our last.
