Papillon d'Orphee

This off-the-beaten-path red comes from the rarely encountered Gaillac region of SW France. It is produced from 100% Braucol from a small biodynamically farmed vineyard planted in soils rich with clay, limestone, and gravel. After a lengthy 12 days of maceration on the skins, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for 10 months and then bottled. The result is a deep and concentrated wine with plenty of lift that is playful on the palate but explodes with flavors of dark blue and black fruits, earth and subtle black pepper. Pair this excellent value with fresh lamb burgers. Delicious!
