Gerard Seguin Chambolle-Musigny "Derriere le Four"

This vineyard is located in the top of Chambolle, behind the church and not far from the old oven of the village.

Facing south, the wines from this terroir are located on rock and a mixture of clay soil and rock scree - it is very typical of the appellation. The Musigny, "Lords of the Village", are only a hundred meters away.

The vines in the plot are 25 to 30 years old. Vinification is traditional: manual harvesting, total destemming, cold maceration then fermentation with native yeasts, vatting about 18 days. Aging on lees 18 months in barrels of which 40% of new wood Allier.

On the palate, this wine has a lot of complexity, finesse and elegance. It will go perfectly with roasts, osso-buccos or poultry.
